Star Wars: The Bad Batch, the sequel to/spin-off of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, has completed the first half of its inaugural season.

Following the titular squad of clone troopers during the aftermath of Order 66, Bad Batch has introduced us to a slew of new characters while working in a ton of older ones from across the franchise. However, where is everything going?

I’ve compiled a list of my four biggest questions so far.

Spoiler Alert! If you haven’t seen up to Episode 8 of The Bad Batch, this is your last chance to turn back!

1) Who is Omega?

Okay, this is the biggest question of the season so far. It’s been bluntly repeated that Omega is a different kind of clone. For one, she’s not a soldier and played more of a medical assistant role despite easily picking up marksmanship. But what else makes her stand out? It can’t just be because she’s a girl and a medic. Is she secretly not a clone of Jango, but someone else entirely, like Palpatine? Or does she have some hidden abilities that have yet to be revealed?

2) What’s Lama Su’s Plan?

Lama Su, Prime Minister of Kamino, has commissioned a bunch of bounty hunters to retrieve Omega. First, we saw Fennec Shand, which was a nice nod to The Mandalorian. Now, with the mid-season finale, we’ve also seen the return of Cad Bane from Clone Wars. Why are they going to such great lengths for Omega? Is it just her knowledge, her literal DNA, or both? And what are they hiding from the Empire?

3) Where’s Boba Fett?

It was cool to see Fennec and Bane organically return to the fold. However, with bounty hunters on Omega’s trail, there’s one who’s been kept out of the story so far: Boba Fett. When we last saw him, he was still a kid, but slowly becoming the more ruthless bounty hunter that we see in The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Mandalorian. There is also a scrapped Clone Wars arc that brought him in conflict with Bane (part of which was alluded to in “Reunion”). Is that arc now being reworked for Bad Batch? Will we see Boba this season, given his relationship with the clones? Is taking out Bane, and saving his “sister,” part of his journey to becoming the galaxy’s top bounty hunter? The main cast does share a potential connection with Fett: Cid, who was previously revealed to be in contact with Bib Fortuna, Jabba the Hutt’s loyal right hand.

4) Where’s Ahsoka Tano?

Due to the anachronistic nature of the franchise, most fans are already aware of Ahsoka Tano’s ultimate fate. She’s been in Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Mandalorian, and will soon have a live-action series. However, with The Bad Batch bridging the gap between Clone Wars and Rebels, where’s the former Jedi who ties the Filoniverse together? When we last saw Ahsoka, she and Rex survived Order 66 together. She then abandoned her lightsabers, faked her death, and went into hiding. We’ve also seen three of her friends—Clone Captain Rex and Trace & Rafa Martez—who are in contact with each other. We’ve also seen Saw Gerrera, who was trained by Ahsoka, in the debut episode. Is this the beginning of Ahsoka’s tenure as Fulcrum?

What are your thoughts? Do you have other questions about the show so far? What will be answered by the end of the season?
